Who We Are

Northern Music Services is a one off. We have a reputation for high quality production but we are much more than just a studio. Since the early eighties we have led the way in providing local musicians with the support they need to develop their careers, introducing popular music projects into schools and promoting the wealth of live music talent the North East has to offer.

Making Music Work is about giving people access to industry standard recording, rehearsal and performance facilities, backed up with help and advice from top professionals, so that they can develop their own ideas and talent.

In this country, popular music is a £2.5 billion per year business. From Lindisfarne to the Lighthouse Family, a stream of North East acts have made a major contribution to its success, while the many excellent bands playing local pub and club circuits ensure its strength, diversity and high standards. Its continued success depends on the creative edge of young musicians and their contribution to the vitality of local music scenes.
